Anti-Racism – Launch of the ARC Speaker Series

As part of Anti-Racism Anti-Discrimination Week (March 15-19), Western Québec will launch the ARC Speaker Series on Tuesday, March 16. The Anti-Racism Community Building Working Group (or ARC for short) is excited about this endeavor, as the goal is to provide a series of ‘capsules’ which feature guest speaker presentations aimed at sharing life experiences and educating our students.

We are proud to introduce our inaugural speakers, both of whom are Western Québec employees; Drew Wapachee McDougall and Carlos Brown. Learn more about their presentations below.

This information was shared with our staff members today. Teachers and classes who wish to attend either of these presentations in real time should reach out to Secretary General George Singfield before the end of the day Friday, March 12. The presentations will be between 30 and 40 minutes in length and will include question periods for those who attend.

Alternatively, and in an effort to reach as many students as possible, all of our ARC Speaker Series presentations will be available to watch on westernquebec.ca under ‘ARC Speaker Series Capsules’ which will be available the week of March 22.
