Letter to Parents & Students: Guidelines and directives regarding COVID-19 symptoms

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Adult Education or Vocational Training Students,

We have received a number of questions this week regarding the guidelines and directives on COVID-19 symptom management for our students. In response to these questions, I ask that you please take note of the bulleted information below:

  • The Western Québec School Board continues to follow the sanitary and health measures as provided by Public Health
  • Given the ongoing changes with COVID-19, it is necessary for Public Health to frequently update the measures, directives, and protocols that are to be used in schools and centres

In order to ensure that you have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding COVID-19 measures, directives, and protocols, you are asked to consult the Public Health website (link below) to determine the necessary steps to be taken if and when you have questions or are presented with a situation that involves COVID-19 diagnosis or symptoms:

Please take note as well that earlier today, Public Health advised school boards that rapid tests will be made available to secondary and adult education/vocational training students should they present symptoms during school hours.

Sincerely,

George Singfield
Secretary General & Director of Corporate Services and Communications
